Earlier this year, the CCISD Child Nutrition department won two awards from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for Healthy Meals Incentives programs: the Innovation in Cultural Diversity of School Meals Award and Innovation in Nutrition Education Award.
The team earned the Cultural Diversity of School Meals award for its “Around the World On Your Plate” initiative, introducing students to foods from cultures around the world each month.
With the Innovation in Nutrition Education Award, the department was recognized for its Taste of Texas Harvest of the Month program, which introduces students to different locally-sourced, healthy foods.
In each of the past 2 years, CCISD won the Turnip the Beet Award for its summer feeding program.
Times and dates are subject to change due to low participation. All meals must be consumed on site.
Updated schedules and menus at each site can be found on the CCISD Child Nutrition website.
